Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Yoomey runs the entire process inside your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is read into your device’s memory, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. We never receive it, so we cannot see, store or leak it — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.

How much smaller will my PDF get?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the content. Scans and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink by 50–90%. Text-only PDFs are already compact and may shrink only a little. If we can’t make it smaller, we tell you and keep the original.

Will text quality change?

Accepted Answer

No. Text and vector graphics are untouched; only embedded JPEG photos are downsampled according to the level you choose.
