Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Yoomey runs the entire process inside your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is read into your device’s memory, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. We never receive it, so we cannot see, store or leak it — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.

Can you unlock a PDF if I don’t know the password?

Accepted Answer

No. Unlock PDF removes a password you already know. We don’t crack passwords.

Which encryption types are supported?

Accepted Answer

Standard PDF password security, including AES-128 and AES-256. Certificate-based (public-key) encryption is not supported.
